Left Handed Reliever Joins Colorados Triple A Affiliate

Rockies Bolster Bullpen With Luis Peralta Trade

Left-handed reliever joins Colorado's Triple-A affiliate

Peralta could provide depth to Rockies' bullpen

The Colorado Rockies have acquired Minor League left-handed pitcher Luis Peralta from the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for cash considerations.

Peralta, 25, has a 3.52 ERA with 10 strikeouts in 10.1 innings pitched for Triple-A Indianapolis this season.

The Rockies selected Peralta's contract from Triple-A Albuquerque and added him to their active roster.

The Rockies bullpen has struggled this season, with a 4.91 ERA that ranks 29th in the majors.

Peralta could provide some much-needed depth to the Rockies' bullpen.

The Pirates, who entered Tuesday's game at 53-52 and are two games out of a Wild Card spot, added to their bullpen on Monday night by acquiring right-handed pitcher Nick Mears from the Milwaukee Brewers.

Mears has a 3.45 ERA with 11 strikeouts in 10.1 innings pitched for Triple-A Nashville this season.
