Finding Peace and Recalling Darkness

Elliot Page has released an emotional trailer for his upcoming film "Close to You," his first since coming out as a transgender man in 2020. In a recent interview, Page opened up about finding peace in his new body and recalled the dark place he was in prior to his transition.
After its successful debut at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) last year, "Close to You" is finally set for a wide release on August 16. The film is a trans family drama that explores the complexities of identity, acceptance, and love.
For much of his life, Page experienced gender dysphoria, which caused him significant discomfort in his own body. The actor credits his transition with giving him a new sense of peace and self-awareness.
"I'm so grateful for the opportunity to tell this story," Page said. "It's a deeply personal film for me, and I hope it can help others who are struggling with their identity."
In addition to starring in the film, Page also serves as an executive producer, ensuring that the story is told with authenticity and sensitivity.
